Ideal candidates should have between 2 to 5 years of multi-line underwriting experience. All candidates should be familiar with all of the following; Professional Liability, Miscellaneous E & O, and Surplus underwriting. Candidates are expected to have excellent computer skills. Our client is seeking underwriters that are well organized, detail oriented, have great communication skills, outstanding written abilities, and very strong analytical and reasoning abilities. Motivated individuals with professional work ethics who can work both independently and within a group as contributing team players. Seeking a F/T Direct Hire Medical Coding Manger to work in Deerfield, IL Posted On: 09.05.08Seeking a Full-Time Medical Coding Manager for a Direct Hire to Work in the Northern Suburb of Deerfield Illinois Our client, a healthcare company in Chicago's northern suburbs, has an immediate need for a Manager of Medical Coding. This is a direct hire position that will pay up to 100K, depending on experience, and offers excellent benefits. Only candidates with a RHIA certification will be considered. The Medical Coding Manager will direct the activities of 12 medical coders, as well as provide assistance to other departments in the company. The manager assures that the coding function is carried out in accordance with government regulations and requirements. This role provides pro-active direction and manages the coding process for all medical billing. Position will also consult with physicians regarding accurate documentation and assist with the identification of procedures that ensure all charges are captured and entered in a timely fashion. Coding manager will be responsible for all administrative, operational and technical aspects of the Coding department, ensuring that coding is completed in established timeframes. This position will manage a staff of 12 coders. The company conducts about 5,000 exams per week, which need to be coded. This position reports to the Vice President of Finance REQUIREMENTS: - Five (5) years coding experience - CPC is required along with knowledge of Medicare regulations and OIG Advisory opinions. - Certification by American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) as a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) - Maintenance of continuing education requirements as established by the AHIMA - Knowledge of Medicare Medicaid regulations and OIG Advisory opinions. This is an, exempt, direct hire position with compensation that is in the high 5 figures + bonus potential. A four-year degree is preferred, but they will consider someone with less education but with more experience. Because this position manages a staff (directly and indirectly) of over 80 (eighty) people, candidates should have solid people management skills. Also required is a comprehensive understanding of the claims industry. Other particulars about this position are below PURPOSE: ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Develop, implement and maintain Company strategies aimed at streamlining departmental services to deliver a comprehensive approach to claim processing and customer service in coordination with other company operational departments and company objectives. 1. Prepare and manage budget within established guidelines. 2. Manage customer service call center to comply with Company objectives including the average speed of answer and satisfactory percentage levels of abandoned calls. 3. Recruit, train, evaluate and provide direction to staff. 4. Manage claim-processing inventory to comply with Company objectives including the accuracy and turnaround time. 5. Coordinate training services to directly impact claim office quality, procedural, uniformity and productivity objectives. 6. Ensure use of centrally issued source documents and guidelines utilized by customer service, claims examiners to maintain accuracy and processing integrity. 7. Manage departmental staffing levels to sustain service and quality objectives. 8. Manage auditing protocols to monitor the quality of units managed; claim office compliance to procedures and the Company's strategic plans and quality objectives. 9. Manage integrity of centrally maintained files, reference data and workflows. 10. Manage client relationships as applicable to benefit client retention. 11. Travel as required. QUALIFICATIONS: College degree or equivalent experience and ten plus years experience in group health benefits, at least five of which are in management, with a TPA, insurance company, or managed care organization. Most possess expert level of knowledge in group health benefits administration. Must have extensive prior manager level experience planning and managing staff. RELATIONSHIPS: Extensive interaction with all levels of organization staff. Regular contacts with vendors and industry associates, clients and brokers.
